O’Fallon’s Spirit Center Will Be Closed On Easter

  The City of O’Fallon’s Spirit Center will be closed for the day on Easter Sunday, April 4, and reopen on Monday, April 5, with regular business hours.

  The 66,000 square-foot indoor recreation complex, at 2650 Tri Sports Circle (63368), is open daily except for major holidays. For more information, visit www.renaudspiritcenter.com, or call staff at 636-474-2732.

Utility Tax Rebate Filing Opens for O’Fallon’s Seniors and Totally Disabled Residents

   The City of O’Fallon encourages residents who were completely disabled or age 65 and older as of December 31, 2009, to see if they qualify to file for O’Fallon’s Utility Tax Rebate on gas, electric and phone bills issued between January 1 and December 31, 2009.

  To qualify for the program, seniors and the disabled must also have annual adjusted gross incomes of no more than $38,000 for single households, or no more than $43,450 for married (two-person) households. Social Security income is excluded.

City of O’Fallon’s New Rx Discount Card

  The City of O’Fallon today launched a program designed to provide residents with some relief from the high cost of prescription drugs. The City is making free prescription drug discount cards available to residents through a program sponsored by the National League of Cities (NLC), and administered by CVS Caremark. The discount card offers average savings of up to 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs. The program is free to the City, and free to residents.

O’Fallon Farmers’ and Artists’ Market Opens in April, Will Expand Hours in June

The O’Fallon Farmers’ and Artists’ Market will open for the season at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, in the parking lot at T.R. Hughes Ballpark, 900 T.R. Hughes Boulevard, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.  Admission and parking are free. Market days and hours have been expanded:

·        7 a.m.-noon on Saturdays, April 17-October 16

·        3-7 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 16- September 1

O’Fallon Community Concert Band Tuning Up for Season, Seeks Musicians

  Beginning Monday, April 5, the O’Fallon Community Concert Band will start rehearsals for the 2010 summer concert season. The band is directed by Gene Garza, and rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. on Mondays at the O’Fallon Senior Center, 106 North Main Street, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.  All musicians are welcome to join the band. There are no auditions or costs to members. Musicians must bring their own music stands.

Vendor Applications for 2010 O’Fallon Festivals are Available

  Vendors who are interested in selling merchandise, food or beverages can apply to participate in City of O’Fallon, Missouri, festivals with one, all-purpose vendor application. The application includes 2010 event descriptions, dates and times, vendor regulations, merchandising guidelines, booth amenities, and booth prices for each event.

FREE EASTER EGG HUNT AT CIVIC PARK LOWER FIELD

   The O'Fallon Jaycees will sponsor a FREE EASTER EGG HUNT AT CIVIC PARK LOWER FIELD on MARCH 27TH AT 11:00 AM. Everyone is also welcome to attend the  AFTER BREAKFAST WITH THE BUNNY (Registeration is required at the Spirit Center for breakfast) Both events are designed for children  AGES BIRTH TO 12 WELCOME TO ATTEND. THERE WILL HAVE A SPECIAL “DIAPER DASH” FOR CHILDREN UNDER AGE ONE!

Applications Available for O’Fallon’s Patriotic Heritage & Freedom Fest Parade

  With “Memories of America” as this year’s theme, the City of O’Fallon invites scout troops, organizations, neighborhood groups, clubs, families and businesses to create patriotic floats and parade entries for O’Fallon’s 2010 Heritage & Freedom Fest Parade, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3rd.  

Home Improvement Loans Available to Low-Income O’Fallon Homeowners

  O’Fallon homeowners with low-to-moderate incomes may qualify for a home improvement loan through the City of O’Fallon’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) office.

  “Only six more loans are available, so we invite homeowners to hurry and apply,” said Jessica Hawkins, O’Fallon’s CDBG Administrator. “As one example of assistance, this is a very good time to consider getting homes ready to handle our area’s hot summer heat and humidity by installing reliable air conditioning and thermal windows.”
